(August 31, 2018) Longtime SoulTrackers know we’re big fans of singer and trumpeter Johnny Britt. He was nominated for a SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Award for his work as one-half of the duo Impromp2, and we’ve been following him ever since. Johnny has played with a who’s who of artists and has written hits for the likes of Boney James, The Temptations and more.
Johnny’s Marvin Meets Miles album was an international hit a couple years ago, and now he’s returning with a brand new album that feature such noted artists as Najee and Paul Brown. In fact, Paul Brown is the guest on the first single from the album, the cool cut, “So Hot.”
“So Hot” has a full jam band feel behind Johnny’s lead trumpet, and its midtempo groove is getting us moving. We can’t wait to hear the full album when it arrives in October, but for now we’ll settle for this “So Hot” single. Check it out below.
