(July 30, 2020) We’ve been big fans of singer and trumpeter Johnny Britt since the days when he was one-half of the creative duo Impromp2, and we’ve been following him ever since. Johnny has played with a who’s who of artists and has written hits for the likes of Boney James, The Temptations and more.
Johnny has kept busy during these odd times we’re in, and he has thoughtfully looked at the situations we face as a country and a world. And those thoughts come out in his newest single, “Peace Officer.”
Johnny tells us, “With civil unrest in the nation and all over the world, I wrote a song for this moment in history. In these unprecedented times of police shootings and injustice, I looked through the eyes of the police officer behind the trigger.”
Emmy nominated actor and spoken word artist Malcolm Jamal Warner guests on the powerful single, which also includes Marcus Williams on drums, Dean Mark on bass, and Keith Henderson on guitar, and with an accompanying video made by Johnny with the help of Floyd Webb.
