(April 8, 2018) Fresh off his lauded performance in the television adaptation of the musical Jesus Christ Superstar, the multi-talented John Legend goes in a much more upbeat direction with his brand new single, featuring Bloodpop. The dancealicious “A Good Night” is a song about a night in the club that the singer believes is going to lead to something even more special: “Everything’s gonna be alright. I think I just met my wife.”
As fun as the song is, the accompanying video may be even better. Appropo to the 2018 world of online dating, it begins in a club with a woman “swiping” left and right with men she meets before finding a guy who is appropriately digging her back. It leads to a cool dance scene and even more.
After Legend’s heavy Easter role, “A Good Night” is the right contrast, and should have folks dancing well into the Spring.
