(May 1, 2019) It’s always fun to find the next generation of soul singers, and a new one we’re proud to present this week is Southside Chicago-bred singer, Johari Noelle. She’ll be releasing her debut project, Things You Can’t Say Out Loud, on May 31. The daughter of a DJ, Noelle cut her teeth performing in choirs and musical theatre during her formative years.
Her natural ability first catapulted her from singing covers on Youtube to reality television in 2015 when she joined the cast of the BET docuseries Chasing Desting. The national talent search found Noelle being mentored by singer Kelly Rowland.
Two years in the making, Things You Can’t Say Out Loud should serve as a showcase not only for Noelle’s vocal gift, but for her topical songwriting, covering complex topics that go beyond the usual radio stuff. That begins with her first single, “Show Me,” a tasty neo-soul gem that gives a mature, honest look at love and romance.
“Show Me” is our latest SoulTracks First Listen. Check it out below and welcome Johari Noelle to SoulTracks.
