(January 7, 2026) I had to go to Apple Music to hear JLMT’s music when I got the assignment to write the First Listen article on “Nothing Left to Say,” their latest song. There wasn’t much there under their name – just four other songs. However, what JLMT lacked in quantity they more than made up in quality.
The four tunes posted on Apple Music are good. “Nothing Left to Say,” is distinct from those cuts, but it’s also a solid song. “Nothing Left to Say” has a contemporary R&B meets hip-hop arrangement. The vocal is classically soulful in that the lead vocalist has a powerful, emotionally charged baritone that recounts the emotions that accompany a breakup. The story centers around that moment when she returns the artifacts of a relationship that is now a was.
The group itself is powered by great songwriting as well as excellent vocals. JLMT is the brainchild of R&B artist Petawane, who created Petawanemusic Inc., a platform that provides him with complete creative control over the music. He puts that control to great use on “Nothing Left to Say,” and I’m eager to hear more. Check out JLMT on “Nothing Left to Say.”
