(October 16, 2016) England-born, Nashville based singer and songwriter Jamie Lidell has been a bit of a tough artist to pin down. After taking the pop and soul music worlds by storm with his brilliant, Motownesque single, “Another Day,” eight years ago, he issued a number of releases that stretched boundaries in other areas, making him tougher to pin down musically but also was, for us, less interesting.
Well, it is 2016, and Lidell has returned with an album that continues the promise made eight years ago. Building a Beginning is a well-crafted album of songs that are melodic and really, really well performed.
