First Look: Millie Jackson protégé J Westbrook is “Coolin’”

jwestbrook

OKC born, Atlanta-based singer J Westbrook first came to the attention of the music world as a longtime background vocalist for legendary soul artist Millie Jackson.

Now J is ready to step forward with his own musical vision, in the form of his new album Moments. And he leads off the album with “Coolin’,” a light ballad about the effects of a love that feels like “paradise.”

He tells us about the song, “Coolin’ is a song and a vibe about chillin’ to the maximum and whatever a person chooses to do during that moment – whether that’s having a cocktail or party favor or not, getting a massage, laying out on the beach, connecting intimately with someone or all of the above. Whichever you choose, be sure to include this song as part of the soundtrack

Check out the video for “Coolin’” below and welcome J Westbrook to SoulTracks!
