First Listen: J Brown takes us to the “Moon”

jbrown-moon

(January 25, 2020) Last year Detroit singer-songwriter J. Brown serenaded our ears with “Sunrise Sunset,” a sunny soulful track that catapulted into Billboard’s Adult R&B charts. And he’s been making strides ever since with the success of “Give It 2 U,” his second Billboard Top 20 single. Now currently touring with R&B singer Elle Varner and with his debut EP expected to be released at the top of the year (Jan 24), Brown drops yet another song of sunshine on our ears.

With bright neo-soul midtempo vibes and an irresistible chorus, “Moon” — penned by Brown and Steve James — is a fantastic intergalactic voyage to the moon and back. And inside, he makes his case for sweet love and romance, begging his lover that he “can’t get enough of your love.” It’s akin to the love songs of classic contemporary R&B. “‘Moon’ is an escape place for my lady and I,” writes Brown. “It’s our comfort zone where she and I can focus on us, our love, our happiness and ultimately staying in love forever.”

Considering the meteoric rise of J Brown, this delightful bop is sure to be one of the breakout soul singles of the year. Look for it on Brown’s forthcoming EP, Forever Yours. Meanwhile, enjoy this First Listen.
