First Listen: Ingram Street grooves us on “Try My Love”

(April 8, 2026) Howard “Minquel” Ingram and his brother Daniel “Woody” Ingram, the brothers who form the group Ingram Street, have forged the independent path to make danceable and romantic music that is inspired by the artists who influenced them as the young men in the 1980s and 90s.

That has worked for them, as they have released four albums that have been warmly received by critics and fans alike, and earned for them a Soul Tracks Reader’s Choice Award nomination. The brothers are now returning with the release of the EP T.M.L. (Try My Love). The title track is featured in this New Listen.

“Try My Love” is a breezy steppers jam that finds the duo making a case to a sister to give love a try. In the song, the Ingram Street brothers make the kind of promises that a woman wants a man to make and keep. The main promise is a plan to focus on her and all he wants is for her to give love a try.
