(September 21, 2016) Columbus, Ohio natives and brothers Woody & Minquel Ingram find themselves moving opposite to trends with their latest release, “Natural High,” from their album Escapism. This is a ballad that would fit right at home on “Quiet Storm” radio.
Of course, the type of ballads that bring couples to the dance floor where they hold each other close and tight as he wraps his arms around her waist and she places her head on his chest are few and far between these days. Even the song’s title, “Natural High,” recalls a time when bands – yes bands – made the Quiet Storm format necessary. “Natural High” sports an atmospheric arrangement propelled by percussion and spacey keyboard work leaving a lot of room for sensual and vocals and good lyrics that set the scene for romance while leaving something to the imagination.
