First Listen: The Infatuations are scared of the “Monster”

infatuations

Detroit Block Party is the title of The Infatuations’ first full-length album, and it describes what they are: Pure Detroit. Influenced by the city’s rich musical history, from Motown to Parliament to the MC5, they are a mix of soul, funk, rock and a lot more.

We’ve become introduced to them with the first single from their new EP, Monster, the funky title cut, a mix of styles that comes together into a great funk rock song. As lead singer Kendrick describes it, “If little red riding hood had any kind of warning about the wolf beforehand, it could have been this song.”
