Serendipity can be a wonderful thing in music. While discussing the upcoming album by Lizz Wright, which is produced by Larry Klein, I was steered to another artist, Indra Rios-Moore, who until today was entirely unfamiliar, and whose upcoming August 7 album, Heartland, Larry also produced.
All this in turn brought me to “Little Black Train,” the first single from that album. Indra delivers a spirited, swinging vocal here while a spare jazzy combo propels the train forward. The video, shot in black and white, is also very well done and really suits the track. Tailor made for fans of soul, jazz, and just good music. So jump on the “Little Black Train” and enjoy the ride!
