First Listen: Incognito puts its imprint on classic Donald Byrd

incognito-japan

Our latest First Listen comes courtesy of longtime favorite, Incognito. Their version of the Donald Byrd Jazz- Funk classic, ”Love Has Come Around” is featured on a Japan-only release, Souvenir For Japan, a ten track collection of mixes and tracks released for the Japanese market. Jean-Paul ‘Bluey’ Maunick and his UK Band Incognito are fully respected in both the Jazz and Soul world for their perfect blend of not only getting the mood, but also the groove right since 1981.

The hard core Incognito fan would naturally just snap this album up for their collection, but a lottery win would help towards the imported Japanese price tag. Incognito is currently on tour in Japan and there is no doubt their new version of ”Love Has Come Around” will get everybody dancing.

Have a listen to our latest First Listen and tell us what you think. Has ”Love Come Around Again” for this version of the Donald Byrd classic?
