First Listen: Hi-Five asks the ladies to break off a piece of “Kit Kat”

Hi Five

(July 30, 2016) Much-loved ‘90s R&B quintet Hi-Five (now consisting of three original members with two new recruits) returned last year with the melodic and bumpin’ throwback, “Sunshine.”

For the follow-up, the group has decided to slow things down and modernize its sound a bit. “Kit Kat” contains a lightly sensual vocal approach and satisfying harmonies atop a spare, acoustic-tinged arrangement. The lyrics seem quite familiar, but work well within the compositional context. Take a taste below and let us know if you’re with it.
