(March 12, 2024) As you read this, spring is imminent: the flowers bloom, the birds trill just a little more sweetly and it literally feels like the perfect moment to fall in love. That’s why the tone and the timing couldn’t have melded any better for Harry Linacre’s lush, slow-burning tribute to the journey, “I Feel Love.”
An England native and a graduate from the lauded BRIT School, Linacre’s a burgeoning triple threat, thanks to his skills in production, songwriting and of course, vocals. His credits include BBC Film, a 2015 recording with Disney, and shows across the US. The influence of D’Angelo, Michael Jackson and Usher, to name a few, are apparent in Harry’s dulcet and demonstrative tenor, poured nimbly over the pulsating groove as he recaptures those new, heady flutters of realizing you’re in the presence of The One : “I don’t know what I’d do, if ever I lost you, the thought alone scares me Babe/Never think that she might know, how the word are gonna flow/when she opens up her mouth to say, ‘I feel love.’”
For a man who’s in his 20s, Linacre’s talents display an impressive ease with and reverence of soul, modern without mimicry and sensuality without the sleaze. “I Feel Love” captures what a lady wants to hear and what a guy yearns to express, a balance that other established performers still struggle to create. Put him in the playlist and sit tight: just like summer, it’s practically inevitable that Harry’s gonna keep heating up.
