(July 5, 2016) We’ve been digging Gregory Porter’s new album, Take Me To the Alley since it was released two months ago. It is another musical gem, and one that is moving him beyond his traditional jazz audience and further onto soul music radio. His duet with KEM (which we debuted here on SoulTracks) was a big part of the increased attention. And his new song may go even further.
Gregory and the great Lalah Hathaway have teamed on a duet version of the album cut “Insanity,” and it is simply fantastic. The two rich voices meld together beautifully, giving the song an instant nighttime classic feel.
