Hailing From New York City via Pittsburgh PA, bassist and vocalist George Grant has infused the soul, rock and pop music of his youth into a bombastic sonic array. Growing up in a household where one could hear Steve Wonder or Jackie Wilson as readily as Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix, he honed his musical skills supplied by the best of three musical worlds – rock, soul and a solid foundation of pop AM radio. George has now channeled these earliest roots into a rousing and sometimes heartbreaking new collection of original songs, with a classic Memphis sound abounding.
“The Street Called Broken Dreams” has the feel of a 60s soul smash, a story about a man brokenhearted from the loss of his woman. Says George: “The Street Called Broken Dreams” was written from a true life experience that I’m sure almost everyone can understand. Being crazy in love and not being able to fully trust the person you are with is one of the worst feelings in the world. Wouldn’t wish it upon anyone. Seriously.” Well, it’s seriously a great new cut and our newest SoulTracks First Listen. Check out George Grant and The Mighty Templars below and tell us what you think!
