(February 15, 2026) For the past four decades, U.K. urban music hero Georgie B could certainly be relied upon to shower us with silky grooves – all under the independent music banner. Since his brief but impactful time in the 80’s with Second Image, the London, England-born multi-tasking vocalist/producer/musician made sure he would carry his affection for the marriage of Soul & Jazz Funk into present day. And the proof comes through Georgie B’s collective The Groove Association, with their much honored 6 CD releases. We certainly also note Georgie B and T.G.A. happens to be good friends of SoulTracks with First Listen charms, “Upside Down” and “Soul Night.”
While we anticipate Georgie B & The Groove Association’s 7th CD, My Time To Shine, later this month, the latest First Listen showcases their first single, “Let’s Reminisce.” Shout outs are presented to several U.K. Soul & Jazz Funk talents who made the ‘80’s memorable. Some of the chosen tracks include “Time” from Light Of The World (noted on a 2019 First Listen “Temperature’s Rising”) and Second Image’s “Don’t You.”
Georgie B and T.G.A. stay on course in their tribute with a steady rhythm section, keyboard flourishes, guitar strokes and a soulful saxophone presence. In further gratitude to George B’s days with Second Image, check out their pics on the CD single cover while reminiscing to a small historical scrapbook of U.K. Soul & Jazz Funk.
