(July 24, 2023) It has been nearly a half century since singer and songwriter George McCrae took the world by storm with his international #1 hit “Rock Your Baby.” He charted a few more times in the US (most notably with “I Get Lifted” and “I Can’t Leave You Alone”) and he has continued to record and tour – largely in Europe – well into the 21st century.
For his newest single, McCrae teams with European singer Lynda Law, best known for her singles “I Don’t Want Your Love” and “Somebody Somewhere,” on a discofied tune with a deep bass that sounds like Chic, circa 1978.
“Step Into My Heart” is an invitation to love – and to dance – that the artists had a blast putting together. Lynda tells us, “The track is very personal because we both love soul with a good beat that makes you want to get up, dance and sing along.”
They definitely are getting us moving on this one. Check out “Step Into My Heart” below.
