First Listen: Geneva Renee gives a “Tender Kiss”

(September 3, 2024) “When you know, you know” is a statement often made about love and attraction. “Your Tender Kiss,” the new song by Geneva Renée, is about how you know that the feeling you feel is the real deal.

Renée sings about a man who doesn’t need words to woo her. Rather, one passionate act reveals the depth of his love for her. This is a theme that’s been explored musically by other singers and singing groups. Renée along with producer David P. Stevens and saxophonist Marqueal Jordon put their own special touch on this tune that recalls the sensual, jazz infused Quiet Storm jams of the 1980s.

Renée’s seductive vocals add an element of passion to this cut about a woman who’d rather be shown than told. Jordan’s creativity on the sax brings gives the song a jazzy element. Renée noted that Stevens said the goal was to create a story for the listener, and he asked Renée to think of that one man who could stir her passions by his presence, his touch, his kiss.

When I was alone, I’d always wonder how this man felt about me, but every moment we were together my body would instantly respond to his touch, and I knew our chemistry ran deeper than words could ever express,” Renée said.
