(March 30, 2017) Say the name Freddie Jackson and you’ll get a reaction from anyone who even came close to a radio in the 1980s and 90s. With ten #1 singles to his credit, including classics like “Rock Me Tonight” and “You Are My Lady,” Freddie practically defined urban adult contemporary during its heyday.
After too many years out of the spotlight, Freddie is returning this year with a brand new album that we can’t wait to hear. Love Signals promises to be a tasty mixture of styles, complete with full orchestration and even a collaboration with longtime SoulTracks fave Gerald Albright.
Freddie will be releasing the first single from the album on May 1, but we’re extremely proud to be presenting the World Premiere of that song here on SoulTracks today. “One Night” is a light midtempo love song on which Freddie makes a hard-to-miss proposition to his woman: “Give me one night, let me show you what’s in store. Love’s guaranteed for sure.”
