(May 12, 2018) As long as there has been SoulTracks, we’ve been closely following the career of uber-talented singer, songwriter and musician Frank McComb. Whether wowing us with his keyboard work or serenading with his soulful vocals, he has given to SoulTrackers classic after classic over the years, and has won a SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Award in the process.
So when we heard this weekend that Frank had recorded a new “shorty” — a piece that he describes as “too short to be called a song and too long to be an interlude” — and that he had recorded with fellow SoulTracks fave Eric Roberson providing a freestyle verse, well, we were all in. And “Cereal Milk” is just what we hoped it would be: a smile-inducing, fun little piece with an infectious groove running over Frank’s keyboards. And when Erro enters with his funny short rap (calling himself “The Robe”), it hits just the right spot for us. We can’t wait for its formal release on Monday, May 14.
Check out “Cereal Milk” below, and get ready to grin…and dance a little too.
