(April 24, 2016) We can never hear enough of Fantasia Barrino, even as she moves from musical style to musical style. As versatile as she is, we never expected to hear a country music song from her. But she does that in style on “Ugly,” the first single from her upcoming album.
The song, produced by Ron Fair, is about the false allure of monetary riches, but also the truth that real riches lie in people and a simpler life. Fantasia handles the big ballad beautifully. It may be enough to turn us into CountryTracks for a day.
