(June 28, 2020) Evan Silva’s career is going into its 7th decade, and has found many highlights along the way. From his start as a teenager singing in clubs throughout New Zealand, to joining various bands and touring Australia, to becoming a licensed minister, Silva has always kept music at the forefront of his life. His latest single, “Inside Out,” is a song that in some ways, chronicles not only what he has done, but what he desires to do.
“Inside Out” was recorded with the help of fourteen musicians around the world while Silva was isolated during the Coronavirus pandemic. Driven Gus Fenwick’s funky bassline and lead guitar by Steve Wilson, Silva sings a message of encouragement that’s aligned with his faith. The lyrics speak of a hope to let your spirit and soul guide you, in spite of what may be physically around you. It’s a goal that seems all the more appropriate, considering what we are witnessing in our society.
