(July 18, 2019) Back in 1997, Columbia Records exec Randy Jackson signed singer, songwriter and producer Erik Rico to a contract, and there began an enviable career that has helped make the North Carolina native a “go to” talent for many major artists.
Eric has written and produced music for such notables as Jasmine Guy, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Jurassic 5, Planet Asia, Ladybug Mecca (Digable Planets) and Q-Tip, and has sung on many releases ranging from neo-soul, jazz, house, broken-beat and hiphop productions.
Erik’s newest song will be featured on the upcoming album MORE BOUNCE presents Feeding U New Knocks Vol.2, a compilation on the Wicked Wax music label from Amsterdam, that features a number of today’s rising funk stars.
“I Adore U” has an 80s style groove that is as funky as it is fun. A little bit of Zapp and even some P-Funk underlie this groovy number, and Erik sounds 100% the part up front.
