First Listen: Eric Roberson sings tribute to his own Claire Huxtable

erro620

For those of us who grew up at a certain time, the fictional lawyer and wife supreme Claire Huxtable, from The Cosby Show, was our crush. Smart, urbane and beautiful, she became one of the most revered characters on television, and — fair or not — a measuring stick used by many young men.

In his new song “Claire,” Eric Roberson takes the character of a young man who idolized Mrs. Huxtable, and dreamed of finding his own Claire. Now in his 30s and successful, the young man wonders if he let his chance go by, and wasn’t opened to his own Claire when she came his way.

As with many of the songs written by the talented Mr. Roberson, the song will touch a familiar spot for many men and women…and it has a great groove to go with it. Check out “Claire” below. It is another great song from his current EP, Wind, and is our newest SoulTracks First Listen.
