(March 29, 2020) Eddie Levert is a living legend and one of the most recognizable voices in soul music. His ability to move from smooth soul to growling funk served him well for all these years as the lead singer for the O’Jays for a half century.
The O’Jays have announced that they will retire next year, but they are still performing. In addition, Eddie is recording some music on his own. And he has a new song that provides elements of both hope and faith. “Walking In The Spirit” is Eddie’s collaboration with legendary producer Barry Eastmond (Freddie Jackson, Anita Baker, Billy Ocean), and it is a joyous, upbeat number that gets you in that Sunday spirit. And, of course, Eddie sounds just great.
