First Listen: Eddie Levert of The O’Jays wants you at “My Place”

(March 26, 2026) He is a living legend, on the Mount Rushmore of the greatest R&B singers of the 20th Century. But the great Eddie Levert, Sr. of the O’Jays is still going strong in the 21st, touring regularly with his iconic group while also recording and performing solo.

For his latest single, Eddie delivers a sexy, soulful number with just a touch of the blues. “Let’s Go To My Place” is the story of a man who is ready to leave the rest of the crowd behind and get together, one on one, with his woman. Eddie says of the number, “This song is about connection, passion, and timeless love. I want people to feel the emotion in every note and know that real R&B is still alive.”

Written and produced by Levert, “Let’s Go To My Place” displays the recognizable — but more road-weary — vocal instrument of the all-time great, six decades into his career. And it is a vocal performance that works wonderfully with this sensual song of romance and passion. Check it out below and welcome the legend back to SoulTracks.
