(July 5, 2022) London-based young singer DRCY is new to us, but she has a style that should find an audience among SoulTrackers. Working with longtime UK R&B producer Vince Garcia (Drizabone), she’s delivered a new single that should fit nicely alongside such new singers and Mahalia and Ella Mai.
“Small Talk” is a midtempo that has a lush 80s R&B backdrop to it, but a poppy groove that propels it into a full-fledged earworm, accented by the DRCY’s soulful lead vocals that belie her young age.
