Chi-town’s own Diana Simon has worked as a backing vocalist for such musical legends as Otis Clay and the Chi-Lites, but the versatile singer has the chops to be out front.
Well, that is just what she is doing with her new single, “Step Behind My Curtain,” a song that she also wrote. “Step Behind” has a classic pop/jazz feel to it, maybe the kind of song that Dionne Warwick or even Nancy Wilson may have sung forty years ago. The attractive ballad takes its time, casually working its way into your brain over four minutes, with Diana sharing time with a muted trumpet.
Diana tells us: “’Step Behind My Curtain,’ asks the question, if you could step into someone else’s shoes, could you or would you? And if you did, would you be able to cope with their life’s struggles? Everyone has a curtain, and we only allow a very select few behind it.”
Check out this talented singer, and welcome Diana Simon to the front of the stage.
