(November 11, 2021) Earlier this year, we reintroduced SoulTrackers to Derrick “Doc” Pearson, a producer, songwriter and musician who has made a name for himself beyond his home DC area. In fact, his composition “It’s Been Too Long” is all over radio as the newest single from the legendary act The Whispers.
Doc has created a new album that is aimed at his fellow travelers looking for something different, A Family Man: Instrumental music to inspire, motivate and relax a family man. He told us, “The Spirit of The Lord spoke to my heart that there were many other family men that were just like me, who also wanted to hear some instrumental music to inspire, motivate and relax them.”
A Family Man has made a mark with SoulTrackers, and my personal favorite from the album is the album’s newest single. “I Surrender All, Y’all” is a stylish ballad featuring saxman Merlon Devine. The song is both a beautiful song of faith…and a great nighttime jam to boot.
