(November 6, 2025) “Working Out for Your Good,” the new song from gospel artist Deon Robertson, is a song of encouragement and the importance of keeping the faith. Robertson wants listeners to know that he can identify with their struggles and challenges, those bouts of doubt and the depths of griefs because he’s experienced all those things. The important thing is that God brought him through.
The biblical verse Romans 8:28 inspires the song’s title, as well its theme and world view. “Working Out for Your Good” has an upbeat and inspirational arrangement that helps to drive home that inspirational message. The tune shimmers with tightly coordinate horns, and a funky mid-tempo bass line that is balanced by gospel riffs on the keys.
“This song came from a place of real-life faith,” says Robertson. “I’ve been through moments where things didn’t make sense, but I’ve learned that when you keep believing, everything truly works out for your good. I wanted to give people a song that uplifts them and reminds them that God’s plan always leads to purpose.”
