(August 25, 2025) David Morin’s musical journey takes him around the world and places him on stages with artists like Musiq Soulchild. However, the Vancouver resident always finds his way back to the streets where he honed his craft.
Morin, a self-taught musician who released his critically acclaimed album Every Colour in 2015, will often hit the streets and busk for audiences. Morin started busking in his hometown, but he will pull out his guitar and loop pedal when he’s on the road.
When Morin performs these days – whether at a performance venue or on the streets – he’s raising awareness and interest in his upcoming album, Light Waves.
“Dreaming,” the lead single from Light Waves,is featured in this First Listen. “Dreaming” has a funky, mid-tempo groove, and is a story about a guy who can’t move past a relationship that ended. It has reached the point where the good times play on an endless loop in his dreams.
“Dreaming” has a sound that will fall ever so sweetly on the ears of those of us who recall the creative overflow that was the neo-soul era of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Check out “Dreaming” by David Morin here.
