(May 6, 2024) For a half century, singer and songwriter Daryl Hall has been front and center in the music world as one-half of the most popular duo in history, Hall & Oates. It is still a bit disconcerting for fans to realize that that duo is no more, but both artists are continuing to flex their musical muscles in solo work.
Hall will release his latest solo album, D, on June 21, and he previews it on a song with former Eurythmics lead and album producer Dave Stewart that touches elements of both 50s doo wop and 80s pop. “Can’t Say No To You” is a call-and-response midtempo that finds the 77 year old Hall in excellent voice.
Hall will be touring with Elvis Costello this summer, and both “Can’t Say No To You” and the upcoming album should give his concert fans something new to look forward to, alongside a career’s worth of smash hits. Check it out below.
