First Listen: D’Angelo makes unexpected return via video game with “Unshaken”

(October 31, 2018) It’s been four years since D’Angelo released his uber-popular return album, Black Messiah. Fans have been waiting for more music, and few would have guessed that it would come via a song in a video game. But that’s where you can year the amazing new song, “Unshaken.” It is part of the hot new video game Red Dead Redemption 2.

The song, written by legendary rock songwriter/producer Daniel Lenois, along with Rocce DeLuca and Michael Eugene Archer, has the Old West feel appropriate for the game, which is set in the 1800s USA, and the languid pace of the song, along with the wonderful vocal performance by D’Angelo (reportedly with support from Jamie Liddell), make this an unexpected winner to end October.

Check out “Unshaken” below, and remember again why we all fell for D’Angelo in the first place.
