(August 3, 2020) We’ve been fans of talented singer and songwriter Conya Doss since Day One of SoulTracks, and our readers have agreed, making her a SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Award winner and a perennial favorite. We last heard from her two years ago with the winning album CLEAR, and we definitely needed a Conya fix in 2020. Well, those prayers are now answered with the brand new single, “Not Trading You.”
The first single from Conya’s upcoming album Through Rose Colored Glasses, “Not Trading You” is a sly midtempo that gives the straight up answer to a lover that, even when things aren’t going well, the foundation is there, and she “ain’t trading you” for a different model.
The cool message is combined with an irresistible, steady groove and great vocal back-and-forth with the background singers, all making a song that should be landing on a lot of SoulTrackers’ playlists. We just love it.
