(August 25, 2016) He’s a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and was a key member of one of the biggest R&B and funk groups of all time. Chris Jasper made a name for himself as the keyboardist and songwriter for the legendary Isley Brothers, and continued to enhance that reputation through a dozen solo albums that he also wrote and produced, winning fans in both the R&B and Gospel circuits in the process.
Chris has also become a SoulTracks favorite. His last album, The One, became one of our most popular albums of 2014 and spawned several hits, including the terrific title track. Chris is now readying the follow-up album, Share With Me, which will be released in September. In the meantime, we’re excited to present an advance cut from the album that is a little different. Even though he is a Hall of Fame songwriter, Chris is also a fine musical interpreter, and he shows his skills on his remake of classic two time chart-topping hit from both Billy Preston and Joe Cocker. “You Are So Beautiful” is a song loved by millions, and Chris gives it his very personal spin — with a great result.
