Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Chris Jasper is an R&B legend for his years as a member of the Isley Brothers and Isley-Jasper-Isley, where he became one of R&B’s most notable keyboardists and songwriters. He has also had a strong solo career, and recently released what may be his best solo album, the critically acclaimed The One. We’ve been digging that album for months now.
One special song on The One is a tune that Chris wrote for his wife Margie. It’s a groovy mid-tempo about a man who, even after all these years, would rather be with his woman. Chris tells us about “Kiss Me”: “Kiss Me” is a very special love song that I wrote on our 32nd anniversary. Recording was a “family affair” with my son Michael laying down the rhythm tracks and my wife Margie contributing the spoken parts on the track.
“Kiss Me” is the newest single from The One, and it is also our newest SoulTracks First Listen. Check it out below and enjoy!
