World Premiere: Maysa and Bluey help Chris “Big Dog” Davis to Focus

(May 20, 2020) He is not a household name among soul and jazz fans, but his work is very familiar. Chris “Big Dog” Davis has produced a who’s who of artists over the years – everyone from Phil Perry to Syleena Johnson to Chanté Moore to Brian McKnight, and he has certainly shown the midas touch behind the board.

Chris is now moving front and center with a brand new album of inspirational and moving new songs on the Shanachie label. Focus arrives on June 26, and he brings along with him some of the best musicians around, including Gerald Albright, Rick Braun and Dave Koz, to name a few. As Chris says, “It is so humbling to have all of these artists join me on this project. Every single one of them came bearing gifts that make this album so special.”

With all the star power, the first track that caught our attention from the upcoming album is an Incognito reunion of sorts. Maysa and Bluey come together to help Chris on the title track, a tasty midtempo number that will be a new favorite for both steppers and those of us just sitting in our chairs, grooving.

We are excited to present the World Premiere of this killer new song from these three uber-talented stars. Check out “Focus” below, and tell us what you think.
