(April 1, 2022) There has certainly been no stopping the legendary vocalist Charlie Wilson, first during his years with The Gap Band, and then after he went solo earlier this century. He has become the most successful Urban Adult Contemporary artist in the history of that Billboard chart, and he just keeps going strong at age 69.
For latest single, Uncle Charlie teams with producer Babyface for a new midtempo interpretation of McFadden & Whitehead’s classic “Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now,” complete with guest vocals from Johnny Gill and K-Ci Hailey. The groove is contagious and it is now climbing the charts quickly. With all four artists in big tours, it is a timely piece to rev up their fans.
