(September 3, 2018) Before he became a household name, on his way to becoming a singular star, Luther Vandross was an music industry veteran who had supported artists such as David Bowie as a background singer. He was also a regular contributor to the popular group Change, and was the lead vocalist on a number of that group’s cuts.
Luther went on to an amazing career before his untimely passing, but Change went silent…that is, until the group issued their first album in decades last Friday. Love 4 Love is making waves, partly due to the hit single, “Hit or Miss,” which has been part of the SoulTracks “Fresh Soul” Playlist for more than two months.
One of the other treats on Love 4 Love is a fun new mix of a classic Luther/Change hit. “Searching” finds new life in the “Figo Sound” remix by Stefano Colombo. It is a cool new version of an old favorite and one that bridges the Change of 1980 with the 2018 version. Check it out below and enjoy!
