(January 1, 2019) Well, after years out of the studio, the past 12 months have given us the resurgence of the Chaka Khan. First she released the hot single “Like Sugar” and then performed for the Quincy Jones documentary. And now Chaka is back with a new song for the new year, and it is the title track from our upcoming February 15 album, Goodbye Sadness Hello Happiness.
The song opens softly but builds into a funky, infectious number that puts the iconic singer up front of a call and response number and an early 80s beat. She performed the number today at the Rose Bowl parade
It has been a decade since she last graced us with a full album, Funk This, and so we’re as excited as everyone to hear the new disc. In the meantime, we’ll be jamming to “Hello Happiness.”
