(December 8, 2025) Castella has quickly become a favorite on the pages of SoulTracks for her rich alto voice and her keen sense of “the song.” She is a multiple-time SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awards nominee, and several of her songs have topped our Fresh Soul playlist, including her most recent single, “Sunset Drive.”
Now, in time for the holidays, Castella has released a single that pays homage to two Christmas classics. The medley of “Silent Night” and “Oh Holy Night” was recorded during the inaugural Castella & Friends Christmas Show. Featuring acclaimed guitarist Hartmanni (David Hartman), the recording begins with an a cappella intro, before Hartmanni leads the band in for a more rousing second half.
Castella says about the songs, “The most beautiful moment of the show was a vulnerable one—a song from my childhood. It was gospel and a cappella, exactly how it was meant to be. Blending ‘Silent Night’ and ‘Oh Holy Night,’ we captured something authentic, perfectly imperfect, and deeply spiritual. I wanted to share that moment with everyone.”
