Writer, producer, multi-instrumentatist and singer Cardell has worked with such notables as Brighter Side Of Darkness (“Love Jones”), DJ Rogers (“Say You Love Me”), and Alicia Myers (“If You Play Your Cards Right,” “I Want To Thank You”). The Chicago native later moved to Los Angeles, where he played with Phil Upchurch, George Duke and Joyce Wilson (Tony Orlando and Dawn). He landed his own first hit in 1989 with “Baby Don’t Fool Around.”

Cardell has been constantly releasing quality tracks, over the last several years, including “Thats When I Fall In Love,” “I Care About You,” and “Call On Him,” but it has been five years since he issued his last album, True Steppers Artist.

Well, we’re glad that Cardell is back with a brand new single, “My Best Friend.” It is the kind of quality release we’ve come to expect from this talented artist. So press the play button below to hear our latest First Listen, and let us know if you would like Cardell to be your best friend…
