It recently won Song of the Year at Pop Magazine’s Pop Awards.
Now the Valerie Simpson-penned track is getting the remix treatment courtesy of Nigel Lowis. With a breezy Philly soul rhythmic makeover, reminiscent of mid-70s golden disco, the song finds new life in the Gamble & Huff-sounding grooves. With gleaming vibes, punchy horns and an instrumental mid-section akin to a Tom Moulton mix, “Perfect” discovers an unexpected new home on the dance floor.
