First Listen: Candace Woodson is “Here Again” on new single

(May 12, 2026) With multiple tracks climbing up international charts, including the UK Soul, Billboard Independent and Smooth Jazz charts, the gospel-reared, Kentucky-born singer Candace Woodson is shining bright as a recording artist while steadily putting out quality singles on her own including SoulTracks.com favorites “(Trying to Be) Perfect,” “Say Yes” and the radiant smooth soul of “Breeze on By.”

Now, the “Queen of Sophisticated Soul” is stepping out on the dance floor once again for her latest single. On “I’m Here Again,” a timely cover from Thelma Houston’s 1977 LP The Devil in Me, she turns the heat up on the Chic/Nile Rodgers vibes saturated in glittery disco sequins while teasing up echoes of Stephanie Mills’ “Never Knew Love Like This Before.”

Lately she’s been dropping her smooth, supple vocals on groovy dance tracks like “Midas Touch” and “Your Love.” On this feat, she picks up the tempo inside a Donna Summer paradise with the original producer Michael B. Sutton returning to Woodson’s side. And it’s a glorious revival draped with fresh synths and vibrant percussion that’s bound to appease the ears of those locked into similar nu-disco and electro-funk grooves by Dua Lipa, Lizzo and Purple Disco Machine.

Check it out and let us know if you’re here again for Candace’s new track.
