(October 19, 2021) Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Brian McKnight is no stranger to love songs. In his award-winning career that has spanned over 30 years, Brian has sung to the hearts of women all over the world. But there’s only one woman who has his heart – his wife, Leilani, whom he married in December 2017.
According to Brian, every song he’s written since meeting Leilani has been about her. His latest single “Faithfully” is no exception; Brian calls the heartfelt ballad “the personification of my enduring love between my wife, Leilani, and I.” In the chorus, he sings:
You got what I want, you’re my destiny
Everything I need is standing right in front of me
Take me, I’m all yours. Oh, I’m in love, I’m in love. You’re a dream
I promise you forever, for always, faithfully.
“Faithfully” – which was produced by Earl Cohen, Andrew Thomas, and Claude Villani – is a piano-driven record with a radio-friendly contemporary pop sound. The song serves as Brian’s first piece of original recorded music since the release of his last studio album, “Exodus”, in 2020.
