First Listen: Boyz II Men take a doo-wop twist with “Ladies Man”

boyziimenstreetlight

It’s been a few years since we’ve heard new music from one of the biggest vocal groups of all-time, Boyz II Men, but now  Wanya Morris, Nathan Morris, & Shawn Stockman are readying their return with a new album called Under The Streetlight.

With an album title and artwork that show a hearkening back to the doo wop sounds of old, we kind had a clue as to what to expect when the first single was released. And the upbeat, retro “Ladies Man” certainly fits the bill. Exquisite harmonies and an old school pop/soul feel make this a happy Summer entry one that should get SoulTrackers smiling.

The Boyz have covered a lot of territory over the past 25 years, and “Ladies Man” is another nice entry that may not make them new fans, but should get a thumbs up from their existing ones. It will be on rotation for us.
