First Listen: Michael McDonald and Bonerama pay tribute with “Empty World”

(October 24, 2019) New Orleans band Bonerama has been delivering underground, brass-filled jams for a few years now. And the group, formed by Harry Connick band members Mark Mullins and Craig Klein, is a horn lovers dream, with the group often covering rock classics in a style that reflects both their city and their heavy brass composition.

As NOLA citizens, the Bonerama guys had a deep love for the late, great Allen Toussaint, and Mark Mullins wrote a tribute to the fallen star that has now come to life with the help of legendary vocalist Michael McDonald.

“Empty World” is a beautiful blend of New Orleans jazz, classic rock and just a touch of soul, and McDonald delivers an impassioned vocal up front.

Check out “Empty World” below and let us know what you think of this unique combination.
