(October 2, 2026) Over the past few years, SoulTrackers have gotten to know Michael J. Calhoun, cofounder of the legendary band Kinsman Dazz Band (later the Dazz Band), who has carried that group’s legacy into the 2020s with a string of hits and SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Award nominations. But Mike also has an alter ego, Bluesmaster Mike (a tribute to his friend Robert Lockwood, stepson of Legendary Bluesman Robert Johnson), who delivers a fun brand of Southern Soul.
Bluesmaster Mike has a brand new music video of his duet with Pat Devine that puts a twist on the classic Southern Soul topic of on-the-down-low relationships. “U Been Cheatin” is the tale of woman who is tired of the philandering of her man, and decides that two can play that game.
Devine delivers her sassy lines nicely, and Calhoun includes the bluesy guitar licks behind her. And the story all comes together in the new video for the song.
Check out “U Been Cheatin” below, and welcome the other Mike Calhoun to SoulTracks.
